This is the group that went to the EHDI conference in Atlanta in 2011. EHDI stands for Early Hearing Detection and Intervention, and it is a critical program for infants. If your child was identified through the Delaware Newborn Screening Program, you have benefitted from EHDI. Current recommendations for children with hearing loss urge intervention by 6 months of age in order to teach the child language during the first critical period of learning. The earlier a child is identified, the better the chances for the best possible outcome.
